Learning path

A clear, six-week path from confusion to confident decisions.

Cash signal review

A 45-minute routine to see whether your runway is growing or shrinking.

Overview

How the six weeks are structured.

The program is built so that each week adds one new perspective on your numbers. You keep using your own reports, so by the end of the path you have a repeatable view of your business, not just a notebook full of theory.

Weeks 1–2: Cash in motion

You map out how cash really flows through your business and build a basic forward view of your runway.

  • Understand timing between invoices, payments and payroll.
  • Spot early signals that cash is tightening or improving.
  • Create a simple, owner-friendly cash view you can reuse.

Weeks 3–4: Profitable work

You learn which customers, products or projects actually drive your profit and which quietly erode it.

  • Group revenue and costs into meaningful segments.
  • See the impact of discounts, scope creep and rework.
  • Identify work you should grow, fix or stop offering.

Weeks 5–6: Scenarios and reporting

You test scenarios and turn everything into a monthly story that your leadership team can follow.

  • Model slower sales, bigger hires and cost changes.
  • Set guardrails for safe and risky decisions.
  • Build a one-page update for boards and investors.

Weekly rhythm

A simple pattern that fits into real life.

Each week combines short, focused activities. You can spread them across the week or complete them in one focused block, depending on your schedule.

  1. Learn: Watch a 15–20 minute lesson that explains one concept using plain language and Australian examples.
  2. Apply: Use guided worksheets to mark up your own reports and capture the signals you see.
  3. Discuss: Join an optional live session to ask questions and hear how other leaders are using the tools.
  4. Decide: Record one to three small decisions or experiments for the month ahead.

What you leave with

Tools you can keep using every month.

The goal is not to impress anyone with complex models. It is to give you a compact toolkit that keeps working long after the cohort ends.

  • A reusable cash view tailored to your business model.
  • A basic margin map to spot profitable and risky work.
  • Three simple scenario templates for planning changes.
  • A one-page leadership update you can share with boards and teams.

Support along the way

You are not climbing the mountain alone.

Numbers can feel lonely when you are the one carrying responsibility. The learning path gives you structure and people to lean on when questions appear.

  • Facilitated live calls with time for your specific questions.
  • Examples and case studies from Australian organisations.
  • Light peer accountability to keep you moving each week.

Quick answers

Common questions about the path.

How much time do I really need?

Most leaders spend around two to three hours per week. Some complete the videos and worksheets in one sitting, others spread them across the week. The live calls are recorded if you cannot attend.

Do I need an accounting background?

No. The learning path is designed for founders and managers who work with accountants but do not think of themselves as “finance people”. We explain every concept in everyday language.

Can my team join with me?

Many leaders bring a finance manager, operations lead or co-founder. Shared language around the numbers makes it much easier to agree on priorities and trade-offs.

Talk through the learning path

If you are not sure whether the structure fits your current workload or stage, share a few details and we will send a short recommendation.

We will usually respond within one business day with a suggested time or a few written recommendations.

Ready to follow a structured path instead of piecing things together?

The learning path is designed so you can keep leading the business while building a deeper understanding of your numbers.
